Frequently Asked Questions
My nutrition coaching program is highly collaborative and personalized, free from the rigid, "one-size-fits-all" approaches you often see online. We work together in a judgment-free way to explore what works for your unique body and lifestyle.
What Nutrition Coaching Process Looks Like:
The goal is to build sustainable habits, not to chase quick fixes. This will take patience, an open mind, and a willingness to learn. The process generally follows these steps:
Generate Awareness: We start by looking at your current food choices and habits to understand your starting point.
Build Your Knowledge: I’ll fill in any nutritional knowledge gaps, ensuring you feel confident in the "why" behind your choices.
Create Your Plan: Together, we will align on what changes make sense for YOU and create an actionable plan to get started.
Experiment & Refine: This is the most important part. We will experiment with the plan. If something doesn’t work, I don't see it as a failure—I see it as valuable feedback. We learn from it, pivot, and adjust until we find what sticks.
Approach to Tracking:
While tracking is not strictly required, building awareness is key. Tracking is a powerful tool, and we can be flexible in how we use it. The goal is never about perfection or judgment about food choices; it’s about collecting objective data to gain insight.
This might look like:
A detailed food log in an app or spreadsheet.
Simply snapping photos of your meals.
Jotting down notes in a journal.
Most importantly, tracking is a temporary tool, not a lifelong homework assignment. Again, the aim is to use it to gain valuable insights that empower you to make more mindful and meaningful food choices on your own.
Health coaching is a powerful partnership designed to bridge the gap between knowing what you should do for your health and actually doing it. It recognizes that you are the ultimate expert on your own life. So my role isn't to give you a rigid set of rules, but to act as your dedicated guide...a wellness sherpa, if you will
From our work together, you can expect:
A Judgment-Free Space: This is a safe and confidential environment for you to explore your goals, challenges, and successes without any fear of criticism.
Teaching you to OWN IT: My ultimate goal is to help you take radical responsibility for your own well-being—not out of pressure, but from a place of genuine self-awareness and strength.
Deep Inquiry & Honest Feedback: We'll go beyond the surface. I will ask thoughtful (and sometimes tough) questions to help you uncover your true motivations and overcome obstacles. I will also provide clear feedback to help you track your progress.
Consistent Accountability: You are in the driver's seat ALWAYS…and I'm your co-pilot, helping you navigate, stay focused, and build the confidence to trust your own instincts. I am here to hold you accountable to the goals you set for yourself, cheering you on every step of the way.
While I can’t guarantee a specific outcome by a specific date (like losing X pounds in Y weeks), I can guarantee my unwavering commitment to you and will provide:
A personalized, evidence-based approach.
My full support and guidance in a completely judgment-free space.
Equip you with tools and knowledge you need to build a sustainable, healthy lifestyle.
As for how long it takes? The honest answer is: it’s unique to you.
Many of us have been caught in an "all-or-nothing" cycle, where we go all-in on a plan, burn out, and then feel like we've failed. It's a super frustrating pattern, and you are not alone in it. My goal is to break that cycle for good.
We will work together to replace perfectionism with patience and consistency. This is because true, lasting change (the kind where healthy habits become second nature) takes time to build. If you already knew how to make it stick, you wouldn't be here. Our job is to collaboratively explore what works for your life, set realistic goals, and build momentum one step at a time. The focus is on progress, not a deadline. So….how long will it take?! As long as it takes!
I work with people who have reached a turning point on their life journey, those that are ready for a real change and are looking for a compassionate guide to support getting them there. My clients often resonate with one of these feelings:
You're tired of being tired. You know you could feel more vibrant, energized, and clear-headed, but you're feeling stuck and aren't sure how to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
You've "tried it all" before. You may have followed different diets or workout plans in the past, but nothing has ever felt sustainable or truly right for your life. You're ready to get off the all-or-nothing rollercoaster for good.
You are curious and ready to learn. You are open-minded and excited by the idea of experimenting to discover what truly nourishes your unique body and fits your lifestyle.
Ultimately, I work with people who are ready to become active participants on their own health journey. The clients who achieve the most profound results are those who are open, curious, and willing to experiment. They understand that there are no quick fixes and are ready to put in the work to build a lifestyle they love. No matter your starting point—whether you're brand new to this or have tried for years—I am here to meet you where you are and provide the compassionate guidance you need to succeed.
That’s a great question!! Many people feel a meal plan is what they need to get started, but my goal is to give you a much more powerful, sustainable solution.
Rigid meal plans can create dependency and often feel restrictive, which is why they rarely work long-term. What happens when you get tired of the food, have a special occasion, or our time working together ends?
My approach is different. Instead of handing you a set of rules, we build your nutritional confidence from the ground up. I will teach and guide you to:
Understand Nutrition Basics: We'll fill in any knowledge gaps so you feel confident in your choices.
Create a Flexible Framework: We'll establish a personalized eating pattern that honors your preferences and lifestyle.
Master Meal Planning: You'll learn simple, effective strategies for planning and preparing meals that you and your family will love.
You’ll receive plenty of resources and tools. Together, we will develop a flexible eating framework that is right for YOU, giving you the confidence to make healthy decisions on your own.
Absolutely not. I believe that true well-being is about more than just the food on your plate. It’s a holistic ecosystem where nutrition, movement, sleep, stress resiliency, and mindset are all interconnected.
While this program places a special focus on nutrition—because it’s such a powerful foundation for overall health—my support for you is not limited to that one area. My commitment is to meet you exactly where you are and support you as a whole person.
If you’re also looking to build habits around:
Consistent movement that you genuinely enjoy
Improving your sleep quality
Generating more stress resilience
Cultivating a more positive and resilient mindset
...we will absolutely weave those goals into your personalized plan. Your well-being is multifaceted, and your coaching will be too.
If you’re looking for a more structured exercise plan, I do offer exercise programming as well.
The supplement industry can be incredibly confusing, so this is a question I welcome. My approach is built on a “food-first” philosophy, meaning we will always prioritize getting nutrients from whole, high-quality foods.
Therefore, you are never required to buy or take supplements to work with me.
My role is to be your judgment-free resource, helping you become an informed consumer. Supplements can be useful tools when used correctly, but they are not shortcuts or magic pills.
We can absolutely have a healthy and open discussion about supplements. I can help you:
Understand the potential purpose of a supplement you’re curious about.
Learn how to vet the quality and safety of different brands.
Formulate the right questions to ask your doctor or a practitioner who can order specific lab tests.
Ultimately, this is a part of helping you take responsibility for your health—making informed choices rather than just following trends.
